Original Pattern All rights reserved Use 2 strands of 4-ply together, (You can use 3 ply, or 1 strand worsted, and 1 strand sport yarn, just adjust the # of DC and rows to make them big enough) J Hook (Gauge 5 DC = 2"; 2 rows = 1 ½ ") ADJUST HOOK SIZE ACCORDING TO HOW TIGHT OR LOOSE YOU CROCHET( laurel’s note: I use 2 strands worsted, and an “I” plastic hook) Women’s - 7 rows in foot, 6 in heel

Join & ch 3 (12 dc) Round 2: 2 DC in each st; sl st to top of ch 3. (You will have 24 DC in the ring) ch 3 Round 3: 1 DC in each st; sl st to top of ch 3; Ch 3 (24 dc) Rounds 4-7: repeat Round 3 (This size is perfect for most women’s feet)
HEEL; At this point, work is done in rows instead of rounds. Chain 3, and turn
Row 2-5: DC in each st, Ch 3, turn Row 6 [7 FOR MEN] DC in 1st 6 st; skip next stitch, DC in next 2, skip next stitch, DC IN NEXT 2, SK 1 ST, DC TO END (rounds out the heel nicely)
Cuff: You can switch colors here, but do not fasten off. Chain 3 Turn, and work along the sides of the heel, in other words, work each DC, the long way. ………..(Geri does 1 strand OF YARN for the cuff, so I tried that, and it makes a nice tighter cuff. ) Row 1: Work 2 DC in each lengthwise DC along the side of the heel.
Row 2 - 1 DC in each st; Row 3; Repeat row 2 Row 4: (You don’t have to do it this way, if you don’t want.) Alternate front post/back post stitches to form light ribbing. To finish off, when you get the cuff rows done, just slip stitch down the back of the slipper, fasten off, and tuck your ends inside the slipper. (Don’t forget to tuck one of our labels inside the slipper) Tie the 2 slippers together. Sometimes I tuck a “treat”, or sample size shampoo down inside the slipper too. |
